There seems to be some confusion regarding the availability (or lack of) accommodation at Uswayford Farm, in the Cheviots. I was notified in 2011 that the farm was no longer offering B+B accommodation, or camping facilities and it was removed from the PWA guide. Despite what you may read elsewhere, this is still the case. Mick Kirk, Accommodation Guide editor.
Further information to the above note from Mick – there has been a request from the owners of Uswayford who l believe are new to the farm. This farm previously offered bed and breakfast facilities for walkers on the long last day from Byrness to Kirk Yetholm. The accommodation was withdrawn from our Accommodation List some time ago. During that period the site also was available for camping. The new owners have written to us stating that there are now no washing or toilet facilities and as the land is private land they have asked us to publicize this fact and that now there are no camping facilities there. There is no problem for Pennine Way walkers who can camp close to the route or alternatively they can take advantage of the shelters at Lamb Hill and Auchope Cairn. Could our members please take this into account when walking this section.
